Desktop app overview
The Prophouse desktop app is a Windows app for working with your workspace’s library from your own machine. It shows the same library you see in the browser, and adds the parts a browser can’t do: a Local Library of files on this machine, background uploads and downloads that keep running when the window is closed, check-out and check-in of files on disk, and drop folders that catalog new files automatically.
The app runs a small background service (the local agent) alongside the window. The agent keeps the local catalog, runs transfers and watches your folders. Closing the window hides the app to the Windows notification area; the agent keeps working until you choose Quit.
The sidebar
Section titled “The sidebar”The sidebar groups pages by where their data lives. Collapse it to an icon rail with the Toggle sidebar button at the left of the title bar; every icon keeps a tooltip with its name.
Pages backed by your workspace’s library. These are the same pages you get in the web library.

This Machine
Section titled “This Machine”Pages answered by the local agent on this computer. They exist only in the desktop app.

Workflows

System

Your name sits at the bottom of the sidebar. Click it for Switch to light theme / Switch to dark theme, Settings and Sign out.
The title bar
Section titled “The title bar”The app draws its own title bar. On the left are Toggle sidebar, Back and Forward, and a search button that opens the command palette (Ctrl+K). On the right, before the window controls, is a row of status icons. Each one opens the page that explains it.

The close button (Close (keeps running in the tray)) hides the window. To exit completely, click the Prophouse icon in the Windows notification area and choose Quit. Open prophouse in the same menu brings the window back.
Notifications
Section titled “Notifications”When a new notification arrives in your Inbox, the app shows it as an in-app toast while the window has focus, and as a Windows notification when it doesn’t. See Notifications for what triggers them.
Offline use
Section titled “Offline use”If your network drops, the Cloud Library page switches to the Local Library with a banner saying you’re offline. Search and downloads keep working from this machine. Actions that need the server, such as checking a prop out, are disabled until you’re back online.
Links that open the app
Section titled “Links that open the app”The installer registers the prophouse:// link scheme. A link such as prophouse://entries/<entry_id> brings the app to the front and opens that prop’s page.
