Sign in
The desktop app signs in through your browser. You approve the sign-in on the Prophouse dashboard, where your normal account sign-in and your workspace’s policies apply, and the app picks up the result by itself. There is no password or key to paste.
Sign in for the first time
Section titled “Sign in for the first time”-
Open Prophouse. On the Sign in screen, click Sign in with browser.

Your default browser opens the device sign-in page on
app.prophouse.dev. Sign in to your account there if you aren’t already. -
The app’s button now reads Waiting — approve followed by a code such as
WXYZ-BCDF. Check that the browser page shows the same code and that it names Prophouse desktop as the app asking to sign in. -
Click Approve sign-in in the browser.

Switch back to the app. It signs itself in within a few seconds and opens the Cloud Library.
The code expires after 15 minutes. If it does, the app says This sign-in expired — start it again. Click Sign in with browser again for a fresh code. If you click Deny in the browser, the app is not signed in.
Approving creates an API key with write access for the app. It appears in your dashboard’s API keys list, where you can revoke it at any time. See API keys.
One sign-in for the window and the background
Section titled “One sign-in for the window and the background”The same sign-in is handed to the local agent, which runs transfers, drop folders and enrichment in the background. Settings shows it under Background sign-in as Signed in or Not signed in. You normally don’t need to touch it.
If background work stops being accepted by the server (for example, the key was revoked or it only has read access), failed transfers are marked Sign-in rejected and the Transfers page shows a banner with Sign in again with write access. Click it, approve the new code in your browser, and the failed transfers retry automatically. You can also click Sign in again under Background sign-in in Settings.
When your session expires
Section titled “When your session expires”If your session expires while you’re working, a Session expired dialog appears over the page. Your unsaved work stays in place. Click Sign in with browser, approve the code, and carry on. Sign out in the same dialog signs you out instead.
Sign out
Section titled “Sign out”Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Sign out.
Connect to a different server
Section titled “Connect to a different server”Prophouse connects to the hosted service by default, and most people never change this. If your admin gives you a different server address, click Connect to a different server… on the sign-in screen, enter the Server URL and click Connect. The app checks the address before saving it. Back to sign in returns without changing anything. After you’re signed in, the same setting is under Settings > Connection > Server URL; changing it reloads the app.
