Pull and download
Prophouse gives you two ways to get a prop out of the library. Pull delivers a prop and everything it depends on into an Unreal project, in the right folders, through a pull job. Download saves one file to a folder on your computer. Use Pull when the prop is going into a game project; use Download when you want the file itself.
| Pull | Download (Cloud Library and detail page) | Download (Local Library) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What you get | The prop plus its full dependency closure | The one file for the prop’s current version | The one file |
| Where it goes | Your Unreal project, under a destination root such as /Game/Prophouse |
Your download folder (Settings > Downloads) | The app’s local store; the card shows the path |
| How | A pull job that the Unreal plugin picks up | Directly, in one step | Through the agent; large files continue in Transfers |
Pull a prop into a project
Section titled “Pull a prop into a project”-
Open the prop and click Pull in the header. You can also click Pull this on the Dependencies tab, Pull selected with several props selected in the Cloud Library, Pull collection on a collection, or Pull this version in a prop’s version history.
-
In the Pull to project dialog, choose the Target project. The list holds your workspace’s registered projects, most recently used first; every project that has been pulled into is registered automatically. Choose New project… and type the project name (the name of its
.uprojectfile) for a project you haven’t pulled into yet. -
Optionally change the Destination root. The placeholder shows the project’s default root, or
/Game/Prophouseif it has none. -
Click Queue pull job.
Prophouse works out everything the prop needs, queues a pull job and opens it. The Unreal plugin, running in an editor with that project open, picks up the job and places the files. See Pull jobs for job statuses and reports, and Pull jobs in Unreal for the editor side.
Before you pull, the prop’s Dependencies tab shows a Pull preview: every file the pull delivers, the total size, and a count by asset class.
Download a file
Section titled “Download a file”Click Download in a prop’s header. In the Cloud Library grid, source-file props also have a Download link on their card.
The file is saved with the prop’s name and its original extension. Unreal assets without a recorded source file are saved as .uasset (.umap for levels). If a file with the same name is already in the folder, Prophouse saves the new one as name (1).ext, name (2).ext and so on instead of overwriting.
When the download finishes, a message shows the file name with a Show in folder button that opens File Explorer at the file.
Downloading or pulling a prop marks it as used in your workspace. Admins can’t delete a prop once it has been pulled or downloaded; they can deprecate it instead.
Choose the download folder
Section titled “Choose the download folder”Downloads go to your Windows Downloads folder unless you pick another one.
-
Open Settings and find the Downloads card. Save downloads to shows the current folder.
-
Click Choose folder and pick a folder.
Click Reset to default to go back to the Windows Downloads folder. This setting applies to the Download button in the Cloud Library and on detail pages; Local Library downloads always go to the app’s local store.
