Collections

A collection is a named set of props, such as the dressing for one level or a kit for a new hire. Collections don’t copy anything: a prop can be in any number of collections, and deleting a collection leaves its props untouched. You can pull a whole collection at once.

Collections work the same in the web library and the desktop app.

  1. Open Collections in the sidebar.

  2. Enter a New collection name and, if you like, a Description (optional).

  3. Click Create collection.

The table lists every collection with its number of assets, description and creation date. Click a row to open it.

There are three ways to add props to a collection:

  • On a prop’s detail page, check the collection in the Collections card on the Overview tab.
  • In the Cloud Library, select props and click Add to collection… in the bar at the bottom, then pick a collection. The confirmation offers Undo.
  • Through the REST API.

A collection’s page lists its props with their type, category and the date each was added. Deprecated props are marked deprecated.

  • Click Remove on a row to take a prop out of the collection. The confirmation offers Undo.
  • Click Edit to change the name or description, then Save.
  • Click Pull collection to deliver every prop in the collection, with all their dependencies, into an Unreal project. See Pull jobs.
  • Click Delete collection, then Confirm delete, to delete the collection. Its props are not affected.

A pull job copies the collection’s contents at the moment you queue it, so adding or removing props afterward doesn’t change a queued job.
