How is search different from searching file names?

Section titled “How is search different from searching file names?”

You can describe what you want (“mossy stone wall segment”) and Prophouse ranks props by meaning and appearance, combined with keyword matches on names, packs, categories, tags and comments. It works on props nobody has tagged. See Search.

No. Searching is unlimited on every plan, from the desktop app, the web library, the Unreal plugin and the API.

Why do my results look like plain keyword matches?

Section titled “Why do my results look like plain keyword matches?”

Semantic search may be temporarily degraded, in which case search falls back to keyword matching. A prop pushed moments ago may also not be indexed yet. See Troubleshooting.

The plugin is for Unreal Engine 5.8. The web library, the REST API and the MCP endpoint work with any engine.

Which operating systems does the desktop app run on?

Section titled “Which operating systems does the desktop app run on?”

Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit.

Do I need the desktop app to use the Unreal plugin?

Section titled “Do I need the desktop app to use the Unreal plugin?”

Yes. The plugin hands pushes and pulls to the desktop app, which carries the transfers so they survive closing the editor. Install the desktop app first; see the Quickstart.

The Unreal plugin pushes meshes, skeletal meshes, blueprints, materials, textures, VFX, audio, animations and sequences, together with everything they depend on.

No. Each account belongs to exactly one workspace.

A member who used Prophouse that month: the library, the desktop app, the Unreal plugin, or an API key they created. Members who don’t use it that month aren’t billed. See Plans and limits.

No. Transfer in and out is unlimited on every plan. Storage above your plan’s allowance is the only usage that is billed.

One MCP tool call made by an AI agent connected to your workspace. Each plan has a monthly allowance. It is a ceiling, never an invoice line. See Plans and limits.

What happens to my data if I downgrade or cancel?

Section titled “What happens to my data if I downgrade or cancel?”

Nothing is deleted. On Free, if you are over the 50 GB cap, the library stays readable and searchable but new pushes are blocked. See Billing.

The owner can select Delete workspace under Settings on the dashboard. Deletion happens after a 14-day grace period, and the owner gets a link to export the library first. See Workspace and members.

If I push a changed prop, does it overwrite the old one?

Section titled “If I push a changed prop, does it overwrite the old one?”

No. Each push of changed bytes adds a new version to the prop’s history. Earlier versions stay available to pull or restore. See Core concepts.

Will a pull overwrite changes I made locally?

Section titled “Will a pull overwrite changes I made locally?”

Not silently. When a pull would replace a local file you changed, the plugin asks what to do for each asset, and closing the dialog keeps your local files. Imports requested by AI agents always keep your local file.

How do I stop two people editing the same prop?

Section titled “How do I stop two people editing the same prop?”

Check it out. A check-out lock stops anyone else from pushing a new version of that prop until you release it or the lock expires. See Collaboration.
