Glossary

One-line definitions in alphabetical order. Core concepts explains how they fit together.

Term Meaning
Active seat On Indie, a member who used Prophouse in a given month. Only active seats are billed.
Agent call One MCP tool call by an AI agent. Counted against a monthly allowance that blocks when reached and is never billed.
API key A ph_live_ credential with read or write scope that lets a tool act on your workspace. See API keys.
Category An automatic classification of a prop that you can override and lock.
Check-out lock An exclusive claim on a prop that stops others pushing new versions of it until released or expired.
Closure Everything a prop needs to load (materials, textures, referenced assets), followed all the way down. Pushed and pulled as a unit.
Collection A hand-picked set of props that can be pulled as one job.
Dependencies The assets a prop references. The Used by view shows the reverse.
Deprecated A prop hidden from browse by default but still linkable and pullable.
Device sign-in Signing an app in by approving a short code in your browser (Sign in with browser).
Entry The API’s name for a prop.
Face version The version a prop currently shows and delivers by default. Also called the current version.
Library Everything your workspace has pushed, with its history and metadata.
Lineage The chain of versions of one asset over time.
Member A person in a workspace, with the role owner, admin or member. See Workspace and members.
Object One immutable saved file, identified by its SHA-256 content hash. A version.
Pack A named group of props, usually the kit the assets came from.
Preview An interactive 3D, image or audio view of a prop.
Project A named pull target matching an Unreal project.
Prop One browsable item in the library, such as a mesh, material or sound.
Pull job A request to deliver props, with their closure, into a project.
Push Publishing assets from Unreal to the library with their full closure.
Restore Making an earlier version the face version again, without deleting anything.
Review The review state of a version: Draft, In review, Changes requested or Approved.
Review request A round asking up to 20 reviewers to review one version.
Semantic search Search that ranks by meaning and appearance, combined with keyword matching. See Search.
Slug The short name in your library’s address, https://<slug>.prophouse.dev.
Tag A label you create and apply to props.
Thumbnail The still image shown for a prop, rendered when it is pushed.
Variant group Separate props grouped as alternatives of each other.
Workspace Your team’s account: one library, one plan, one set of members.
