Find similar props
When you have found a prop that is almost right, find similar props to see everything that looks like it: other crates in the same style, alternative chairs, other normal maps. Similarity compares what props look like, so it finds matches whatever they are named.
In the apps
Section titled “In the apps”Open a prop in the desktop app or web library. The Similar assets section of its overview shows the props that look most like it. Click one to open it.
In the API and for agents
Section titled “In the API and for agents”- REST:
GET /api/v1/entries?similar_to=<entry_id>. Leave outsort(or set it torelevance); similarity is a ranking, so other sort orders are refused. - MCP: the
find_similar_propstool withentry_id.
Both accept every filter, so you can ask for “props like this one, but only meshes from this pack under 3,000 triangles”. Results page with next_cursor like any ranked search and stop after 1,000 props.
What to expect
Section titled “What to expect”- The reference prop’s own history (its other versions) is left out of the results.
- Similarity works for any prop with a thumbnail, textures and materials included. A normal map finds other normal maps and a brick material finds other brick materials.
- Each result carries a
scorethat only orders the list. It is not a percentage.
When it does not work
Section titled “When it does not work”Similarity is computed from a prop’s thumbnail. A prop without a thumbnail, or one whose thumbnail is still being processed after upload, has nothing to compare: the request fails with EMBEDDINGS_UNAVAILABLE and HTTP status 409. Try again once the thumbnail is ready, or start from a different prop.
A 503 status with the same code means similarity search is temporarily unavailable. Text search keeps working in the meantime.
