Unreal plugin overview

The Prophouse plugin (listed in Edit → Plugins as Prophouse for Unreal Engine) connects the Unreal Editor to your Prophouse library. You use it to push assets from a project into the catalog, browse and import catalog assets into another project with every dependency they need, and generate previews for the entries whose source assets live in your project. It is an editor-only plugin for Unreal Engine 5.8.

  • Push assets or whole folders from the Content Browser to Prophouse, with their full dependency closure. See Push assets to Prophouse.
  • Search the catalog inside the editor and import an entry, or a set of variants, straight into the open project. See Import from the Prophouse Browser.
  • Run imports that were queued for this project from the web library or another editor. See Pending imports.
  • Generate previews and metadata for your project’s share of the library. See Previews and library processing.
  • Let AI agents signed in as you import props into the open project. See Agent imports.
  • Drive imports from Python, Blueprints or the console. See Scripting.

All three panels open from the editor’s Window menu.

Window menu entry What it shows
Prophouse Connection status, this project’s key, the Process Library button, the Pending imports list, and an Activity area with live import progress and per-asset reports.
Prophouse Browser A searchable tile grid of the catalog with a type filter, a sort menu and an Import button on every tile.
Prophouse Processing Library processing by asset type: per-type counts, Process selected types, Recapture thumbnails, and a live activity log with an Errors only filter.

Each panel has a gear button that opens the plugin’s settings (Edit → Editor Preferences → Plugins → Prophouse). While the editor is signed out, the Prophouse and Prophouse Browser panels show a Sign in to Prophouse screen with a Sign in with browser button.

Right-click assets or folders in the Content Browser to find a Prophouse section with two entries:

  • Push to Prophouse… opens the push wizard for the selection.
  • Prophouse: Exclude from sync (or Prophouse: Include in sync when the whole selection is already excluded) adds the selection to the project’s sync blacklist, so it is never pushed or processed. See Settings reference.

By default the plugin moves no file bytes itself. Pushes and imports hand their files to the Prophouse desktop app running on the same machine, which uploads and downloads in the background and keeps going after you close the editor. The editor still does everything that needs the engine: walking dependencies, hashing, the conflict check and placing assets into the project. Install the desktop app before you push or import. See Install the plugin.
