Install and update

The desktop app runs on 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11. You need a Prophouse account to sign in.

Install

1. Go to prophouse.dev/download and click Download for Windows.

2. Run the installer. It installs Prophouse for your Windows user account only, so it does not ask for administrator rights.

3. Prophouse opens on the Sign in screen. Continue with Sign in.

The installer also registers the prophouse:// link scheme so links from other tools can open pages in the app.

Tip

If you use the Unreal plugin, install the desktop app first. See Install the Unreal plugin.

Start with Windows

To have Prophouse start when you sign in to Windows, open Settings and check Start Prophouse when I sign in to Windows.

Updates

Prophouse checks for a new version when it starts, every four hours while it runs, and when you come back to the window after half an hour or more away. It never installs anything without you asking.

When a new version is out, an update icon with a green dot appears in the status icons on the right of the title bar. Hover it to see Update available: Prophouse and the version number.

1. Click the update icon. The download starts and the icon shows the percentage.

2. When the icon’s tooltip reads Update downloaded — click to restart, click it again. Prophouse installs the update and restarts into the new version.

If the download fails, click the update icon to try again.

You can do the same from Settings under About. It shows the version you’re running and a Check for updates button. When an update is available the card reads Version X is available and offers Download update, then Restart to update. Expand What’s new to read the release notes. The title bar icon and the Settings card share the same state, so a download started in one shows in the other.

Uninstall

Remove Prophouse from Settings > Apps > Installed apps in Windows.
